Have you ever stopped to consider how many different jobs you have? Let’s define a job as something you have to do that you don’t particularly love to do. Something you love to do will be considered a hobby. Jobs abound in my life and I’m not talking about the kind I get paid for. I have one of those jobs, too, technically, kinda, sorta, I suppose. You see, I own a small business with my husband. Within the context of that business I certainly have a job but it is loosely structured and the business wouldn’t fail without me. But I digress.
Jobs We All Have
Let’s look at some of the jobs we all have in order to fully appreciate the complexity of who we are as people.
- Driving
- Preparing food
- Laundry
- Dishes
- Cleaning up (after ourselves at the very least)
- Communicating ideas
- Community involvement
- Family interactions (these can certainly feel like a job sometimes!)
- Research (for a hobby, for a problem, for a recipe, for curiosity)
